All of our Driver CPC Course are run by highly qualified and experienced LGV drivers. We are a JAUPT Approved Training Centre (Centre No AC01883) so you can be sure of receiving the DSA required qualification to enable you to drive an LGV.
What Type Of Driver CPC Do I Need?
There are two types of Driver CPC:
- Initial CPC Training.
- Periodic CPC Training.
Initial CPC Training.
All newly qualified drivers who pass their HGV/LGV/PCV after 2009 are required to undertake the initial CPC training. This comes in two parts; the first being a multiple choice test conducted at your local DSA Theory Test Centre and is called The Module 2 Case Study. This is a 35 minute test costing £23. The second part is a practical test with a DSA examiner where you must demonstrate how to secure loads and daily walkaround checks to ensure the vehicle is legal and safe to take on the road, this will last for 3 hours including a 20 minute test and costs £235.
Periodic CPC Training.
Every driver has to attend 35 hours in a CPC Classroom every 5 years to keep their Drivers Qualification Card valid. All of our courses are tailored to educate the driver with up to date knowledge and legislation to keep within legal requirements.
The course we offer are:
- Driver Hours and Digital Tachograph
- Vehicle Defect Reporting
- Safe Loading
- Health, Safety & Emergency Aid
- Customer Care
Drivers who passed their car test before January 1st 1997, were given 'Grandfather Rights' to the C1 7.5t and D1 minibus. These drivers were automatically given the inital CPC entitlement but this would now be invalid after September 2014 if the driver didn't attend CPC Classroom Lessons to renew it.
There are now 2 alternative ways to obtain your CPC Qualification Card to cover you for the next 5 years,:
Option 1 - do initial CPC Training i.e theory test and practical test
Option 2 - to attend 35 hours in a CPC Classroom over 5 days
Note; if you have already obtained your initial CPC then you can only renew it by doing the Classroom CPC
